The only way to mod your wii is by softmodding it. Softmodding is using software rather than a modchip. Unlike modding using modchip, softmodding has a couple of advantages :
* No requirement for a modchip, you can play downloaded games, it is safe and easy to install, maintains warranty, applicable in any wii, e.t.c.
You need to have the following to softmodd your wii :
( a ) SD Card. The SD Card is obligatory in order to play burned DVD. You may use any from either a camera or a phone, so long as its capacity is not above 2GB. Wii isn’t compatible with SD Card above 2GB ( SDHC ).
( b ) DVD- Burner. Make sure that your computer has a DVD burner and a DVD-burning software installed. You can download a DVD-Burning software freely on-line. Otherwise, you can use either an external harddisk or a USB stick rather than DVDs.
( c ) Unlocking Wii software. You receive files after downloading, and you want to store them in the SD Card. You can only do this by first unlocking your wii.
( d ) Internet connection on your wii.
After making sure that all that is required is in place , you now need to install the Homebrew Channel. This is the channel you’ll go thru so as to play DVDs and games.
Start by formatting the SD Card. Download all of the required files the transfer the SD Card to your wii.
Go to the wii button at below left. Press data Management then press Save. Press wii. Delete savegame on the Zelda.
Press the SD Card and Twilight hack will show. Copy it to your wii system then start Zelda. Load your savegame. Now follow the on-screen instructions.
There is also special software available which will make soft modding even faster. Just enter the CD and follow instructions on the screen.
As you can see, soft modding Wii is pretty easy and by modding your Wii you may take your console experience to a whole new level.
